The General Chapter of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate (Pallottines), which is being held at "St.Vincent Pallotti" Spirituality Centre, Grottaferrata, has elected the members of the new General Council: Sr Serena Cambiaghi- Superior General, member of the Italian Province of "Queen of Apostles"; Sr Ignes Burin- Vicar General, member of the Brazilian Province of "N. S. Aparecida"; Sr Armida Sacco: General Councillor, member of the Italian Province of "Queen of Apostles"; Sr Lilly Nanat: General Councillor, member of the Italian Province of "Queen of Apostles/India"; Sr Salete Maristella Cargnin: General Councillor, member of the Brazilian Province of "N. S. Aparecida".

Meeting for confreres working in the education apostolate |
|
A session of ongoing formation for confreres working in the education apostolate in Pallottine schools and colleges will take place from August 21st. to 30th. 2007. The session is organized by the General Secretariat for Formation, about 25 persons will participate representing the entire Pallottine world and will include the participation of several Pallottine Sisters. There will be a sharing of thoughts on common themes such as the role and the challenges of Christian institutes of education in diverse parts of the world, it is also envisaged that members of the General Administration and of the General Secretariat of the UAC will also deliver presentations. The North American Continental Meeting |
|
The North American Continental Meeting will take place from August 20th. to 24th. 2007, in which all the Mayor Superiors with their Delegates and the confreres who work in the United States will participate. The programme envisages an opportunity for all the confreres to share and pray together during the first two days. There will also be input from an expert on the situation of the American Church and on how the Pallottines can serve her. For further information. |

Venezuela - Colombia, Official Visitation |

From July 14th. to August 3rd. 2007, the first General Consultor, Fr. Zenon Hanas, and the General Consultor, Fr. Gilberto Orsolin, made the Official Visitation of the Delegature of Christ the King Province (WA), in Venezuela and Colombia. The first Polish Pallottines were sent there in 1998. There are now about 20 confreres working in 5 local communities. |

European Continental Meeting |

The European Continental Meeting of Major Superiors was organized by Christ the King Province (WA) and took place, firstly, at Spiska Nova Ves (Slovakia, WA.SL) and then at Wadowice. The Major Superiors and their Delegates dwelt on the topic of collaboration in Europe, on the election process in the Society, and in particular in relation to the election of the Provincial/Regional councils, and on the proposal to establish a common Period of Introductory Formation in Europe which would receive candidates from Western Europe, North America and Australia. A declaration was prepared on each topic which both summarized the conclusions reached while also forming a starting point for discussion at the next meeting programmed to take place in Rome in 2009. The participants also presented to the General Administration a request for clarification on the concept of a Delegature which does not figure in our Law at present. The members alternated working sessions with visits to tourists spots in the area in Slovakia and those close to Wadowice, the birth place of John Paul II.

Meeting of the three General Councils |

A meeting of the three General Councils of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate, of the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate and of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate was held on June 1st. 2007, at the Generalate of the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate in Grottaferrata. General topics related to the present level of collaboration between the three central Communities of the Union of Catholic Apostolate, and on ways to further improve it, were discussed in a fraternal exchange. All were in agreement that such opportunities for meeting are very useful, both to unite the resources of the General Councils, or to organize and implement, in the best manner possible, the initiatives that have been undertaken together. It was agreed that such meetings will take place twice yearly, the next meeting will take place at the Generalate of the SAC on March 17th. 2008. Groups of persons representing the General Councils were formed, they will prepare concrete proposals for collaboration in the areas of formation, the apostolate and the missions in preparation for the next meeting. |
