Official Visitation to the Delegature in Canada (BA.CD) |
The Official Visitation to the Delegature of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Province in Canada (BA.CD) was undertaken by Rector General, Fr. Jacob Nampudakam from 19-30 September 2011. The members of this Delegature, consisting of 9 Indian confreres from the Bangalore Province and 4 confreres belonging to the Heart of Jesus Province work primarily in parishes. The bishops are very appreciative of the valuable contributions made by the German confreres all these years and now by the young Indian confreres. Two confreres are now working in the Archdiocese of Vancouver and the Archbishop and the diocesan priests are extremely welcoming and caring. There is a great potentiality for the growth of the Pallottine presence in this Delegature as well as in this vast country. At the same time, we are reminded of the importance of preparing the young members for the mission anywhere in the Pallottine world, always in service of the Local Church. PHOTO

Number 26/2011 of the magazine "Apostolato Universale" |
In October 2011, the Saint Vincent Pallotti Institute printed and sent to all the Pallottine community's number 26/2011 of the magazine 'Apostolato Universale' composed of 72 pages. As well as historical information on the relationship between Vincent Pallotti and the Mechitarist Order and his friendship with Bernard M. Clausi, the articles deal with the theme of faith. The texts of the two talks recorded in this edition propose a reflection on the principal ideas of Saint Vincent Pallotti where he sought with all his heart to revive faith in the world and in the life of every Christian. One is recommended to look at the Pallottine Bibliography for the period January-June 2011 that lists the Pallottine publications throughout the world, in various languages. In the bibliography, there is a summary of the Doctoral thesis of Jean Nepomucene Ngirabakunzi SAC on the theme of 'Vincent Pallotti Formator.' The last pages of the magazine refer to the activities of the Saint Vincent Pallotti Institute in Rome and their participation in the opening of the Pallottine Institute at Mysore (India) in June 2011. Third annual encounter of the St V. Pallotti Institute 2011 |
The third of the annual encounters of the Saint Vincent Pallotti Institute occurred on October 13th 2011 as suggested to reflect on the theme of faith in the light of the guiding theme for this year 'to revive faith.' Fr Jerome Vallabaraj SDB professor of Catechesis and youth Ministry at the Pontifical Salesian University was invited to discuss the question of the formation of the young in the faith. The speaker began his presentation with an overview of the most urgent things in the catechesis of the young and he developed the thought of 'Empowering' the young towards the faith that transforms life. The speaker underlined that Saint Vincent Pallotti had the courage and the zeal to begin many changes of the model: the major changes that Pallotti made were the discovery that in the lay world there is a great capacity for good and the education of the young in the faith. The principle new pedagogical approaches in the formation process: According to Saint Vincent Pallotti, you need to stimulate a change in the paradigm in three key areas of youth catechesis that become also the principal objectives: Christian socialisation in the evangelical style of the disciples' lives; enabling from dependence to the process of Empowerment, and from teaching to catechetical learning. The indications contained in these areas are guidelines for those who are engaged in the catechetical learning of the young. The prospect of catechetical learning invites those who are involved in the catechesis of the young to move from a mentality of conquering to an approach of exploration. They do not treat of earning the young, of conquering them or leading them back into the church, but of exploring with them according to their age and culture, the wisdom that makes them live and the signs of God that from the beginning of time He loves to walk with humanity. |
