5th Pallottine Youth Forum Print
PYF2009.jpgAbout 60 young people from seven countries came to Rome to participate in the 5th Pallottine Youth Forum. Following countries were represented: South Korea, India, Poland, Germany, Scotland, Austria and Brazil. The Pallottine Youth groups were accompanied by nine Pallottine fathers and brothers, responsible for the youth pastoral in their respective countries.
The Meeting was conducted in the Youth Centre of the Pallottine Sisters in Rome. In the first week of August the participants could visit the places in Rome which are important for the history of the Church and for the Christian and Pallottine spirituality.
It was a dynamic experience of diversity of cultures which enriched each other. The common liturgy, the sharing about Christian life in the different countries and discovery of the common roots in the Gospels values and history were the most important aspects of the meeting. You can read some of the impressions of the participants on INTERNET and see some PHOTOS.
Some of the participants came from far away (like South Korea or Brazil). Others traveled to the Forum for a long time (19 days by bikes from Poland). All of them prepared for their participation with long anticipation. We hope to have the 6th Pallottine Youth Forum in Rome in August 2010. The preparation for this meeting can already begin.

Second formation meeting of the Brothers of the SAC Print
The second formation meeting of the Brothers of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate was held from 25-31 July 2009 at the International Centre for Pallottine Formation, with the participation of 23 Brothers coming from all over the world. The meeting was organized by the General Secretariat for Formation and had the principal scope of giving a new impetus to the vocation and mission of Brothers in our Society and the Union of Catholic Apostolate today. This year, the focus was on the formation of Brothers.
As always, this formation meeting too included inputs on Pallottine themes related to the vocation, mission and formation of the Brothers, sharing of their apostolic activities, visits to the Pallottine places in Rome, sharing, prayer, Eucharistic celebration and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Numerous concrete proposals were also made at the end of the meeting like the publication of the literature related to Brothers, conducting further formation sessions for Brothers at the Provincial/Regional levels, preparation of a complete formation programme for Brothers as part of the Ratio Institutionis SAC, and encouraging the Indian Pallottine entities to take steps to promote the vocation to Brotherhood. The vocation and mission of the Brothers today will be also a theme for reflection in the forthcoming General Assembly 2010. PHOTOS

Meeting of the Pallottines involved in social communication Print
Visita del Prefetto della Congregazione per il Clero, il Cardinale Cláudio HumesFrom 14 to 20 July 2009, the first meeting of the Pallottines involved in social communication was held in our International Pallottine Formation Centre. The 20 participants from Brazil, India, Australia, Poland, Germany, United States, Rwanda and Italy were representatives of the Pallottine publishing houses and incharges of the websites of our Provinces/Regions. Some of them work for Television and Radio as well. The meeting was organized by the General Secretariat for the Apostolate and its aim was to examine the situation of communication within the SAC and with the outside world and to assess how the means of social communication could contribute to evangelisation.
The participants shared their personal experiences and presented information on the activities conducted in their own Pallottine entities. They were briefed on the technical possibilities provided by the Information Centre of the General Council of our Society. The participants got also a chance to visit the Vatican Radio. A television programme was prepared on Pallottine activities by the Brazilian Catholic Television "Canção Nova".
Particularly important was the visit of the Prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy, Cardinal Claudio Humes. He emphasized the importance of the media, pointing out that St. Vincent Pallotti himself encouraged the involvement of the faithful in the apostolate of the Printing Press for the spread of Catholic faith. The meeting was an important step taken towards the formation of a group that could give rise to Pallottine News Agency, as recommended by the last SAC General Assembly. PHOTOS

Course on Pallottine spirituality Print
Salvatore_in_Onda_luglio09.jpgAs part of the ongoing formation programme organised at "Cenacle" - The International Centre for Pallottine Formation in Rome, a Course on Pallottine spirituality was held from 1-10 July 2009. 17 participants coming from various entities of our Society participated in this Course, which included inputs on Pallottine spiritual themes by experts on Pallotti and other members of the Union of Catholic Apostolate, visit to the places associated with our Founder in Rome, group discussion, plenum and meaningful liturgical celebration.
These ongoing formation programmes, regardless of the time, energy and money spent, are greatly contributing towards a more profound and experiential knowledge of our Founder and his spirituality, a universal vision of the Pallottine family and a clearer and stronger sense of our identity as Pallottines. Thanks to the participants, the Major Superiors, the General Secretariat for Formation, the Italian Province and the Local Community of "Cenacle".

At the concelebrated Eucharistic celebration presided over by Rector General, Fr. Fritz Kretz, in our Church SS. In Onda, were also present the Pallottine sisters participating in the Formation Course presently in the Generalate House of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters. In his homily, the Rector General emphasized that we can no longer remain mere “spectators” but need to plunge into the deep river of Pallotti’s spirituality and know and love him as profoundly as possible.
