On February 26th. 2009, at the Pallottine Animation Centre, Nagpur, India, a total of thirty nine persons made the Act of Apostolic Commitment in the Union. The Act of Commitment took place within a concelebrated Eucharist in which Fr. Fritz Kretz, SAC, Rector General and Ecclesiastical Assistant of the UAC, was the main celebrant, and Frs. Zenon Hanas, Gilberto Orsolin and Janusz Luczak concelebrated. Sr. Josephine D'Souza, SAC, President of the National Coordination Council of the UAC in India, received the Act of Commitment. This marked a historic moment in the on-going development of the life of the UAC in India as these thirty nine persons are the first lay persons to be admitted to the UAC in India following on the erection of the Union as a Public Association of the Faithful. The dynamic team at the Pallottine Animation Centre at Nagpur has accompanied these new members in their spiritual and apostolic journey towards full membership of the Union, and indeed continues to provide formation for other individuals and groups of persons who are in formation.
