PALLOTTINE MISSION SUNDAY

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The Fifth General Conference of the Latin American and Caribbean Episcopacy chose the theme, "Disciples and Missionaries of Jesus Christ that our Peoples might have Life" ("I am the way, the truth, and the life" Jn 16,6). In his opening discourse Pope Benedict XVI reminded us that the Church has the great duty to care for and nourish the faith of God's People and that the faithful, in virtue of their Baptism, are called to be disciples and missionaries of Jesus Christ. This implies following Him, living intimately with Him, imitating His example and witness.

The General Secretariat for the Missions, motivated by these words and their appropriateness for our Pallottine charism, has prepared a reflection aid for celebrating Pallottine Mission Sunday on the 7^th of October 2007.

This year we present the missionary status of the «Light of Christ» Region of Raipur, India.  We are providing some data regarding the challenges and hopes of this mission. It is our wish that this material will inspire and assist your preparation of the Eucharistic Celebration and, in particular, your homilies for Mission Sunday.
