The annual meeting of the Council of the General Secretariat for the Missions took place in Rome from 1 to 3 March 2011. The main part of the meeting was dedicated to elaborating the principal points of our missionary methodology. The impulse for such a reflection was a letter which the Rector General Fr. Jacob Nampudakam had addressed to the members of the Secretariat.
The principal questions taken into consideration were: missionary promotion in our communities, Pallottine Missionary Sunday, the decisions of the last General Assembly regarding the missions, economic subsidies for missionaries and students, requests for scholarships.
The Secretariat also decided that Pallottine Missionary Sunday of 2011 would be dedicated to the South Korean mission, prepared the programme for the formation meeting for young missionaries which will take place in July in Rome, and established that the next Missionary Congress will take place in Rwanda/Congo in the month of October 2012. The next meeting of the Council of the Secretariat La prossima riunione del Consiglio del Segretariato will be held in Rome from 28 February to 1 March 2012.
